چکیده

Objective: Identify the occurrence of certain virulence genes Escherichia coli vaginal isolates associated with postpartum dysgalactia syndrome (PDS) in sows. Materials and methods: Two hundred two sows from 5 Macedonian pig farms were clinically examined for PDS 12 to 24 hours after farrowing. Vaginal swabs bacteriological testing taken PDS-affected (PDSA, n = 47) PDS-unaffected (PDSU, 155) In total, 74 E tested by multiplex polymerase chain reaction presence related specific pathogenic strains. Results: Genes extra-intestinal (ExPEC) strains most prevalent among all isolates. The dominant gene was fimC. iss more PDSA compared PDSU (P .02). Multivariable logistic regression showed that lower parity ≤ .001) .003) astA .03) correlated PDS. Implications: Lower vaginally infected particular ExPEC are at higher risk developing Positive found early farrowing Classification into pathotype not possible genotyping only.

Frequency of selected virulence-associated genes in intestinal and extra-intestinal Escherichia coli isolates from chicken

Background: Although Escherichia coli (E. coli)is a part of intestinal normal microflora of warm-blooded animals, includingpoultry, outbreaks occur in poultry raised below standard sanitation and duringthe course of respiratory or immunosuppressive diseases. Avian pathogenic E.coli (APEC) harbors several genes associated with virulence andpathogenicity. APEC strains are responsible for some dis...

Prevalence of virulence genes in Escherichia coli isolates of patients with UTI

Abstract Background and Objective: Urinary tract infection refers to the presence of microbial pathogens in the urinary tract and is one of the most common infections in outpatient and hospitalized patients. A wide variety of extra-intestinal infections in humans and animals are caused by the extracellular strains of Escherichia coli (EXPEC). Materials and methods:  A total of 50 E. coli iso...

Distribution of virulence associated genes in isolated Escherichia coli from avian colibacillosis

BACKGROUND: Colibacillosis is one of the most prevalentdiseases in the world that causes multimillion-dollar annuallosses. OBJECTIVES: In order to evaluate molecular epidemiologyof some virulence associated factors in Escherichia coli, isolated from poultry, the presence of iut A, iss, hly F, omp T, iroN, afa, sfa (S)and pap G (II) were investigated by multiplex PCRassay. METHODS: Two hundred th...

Occurrence of virulence genes associated with Diarrheagenic pathotypes in Escherichia coli isolates from surface water.

Escherichia coli isolates (n = 300) collected from six sites in subtropical Brisbane, Australia, prior to and after storm events were tested for the presence of 11 virulence genes (VGs) specific to diarrheagenic pathotypes. The presence of eaeA, stx(1), stx(2), and ehxA genes specific for the enterohemorrhagic E. coli (EHEC) pathotype was detected in 56%, 6%, 10%, and 13% of isolates, respectiv...
